Got Blurry Pictures? Blurry Image?

by Administrator 4. March 2010 04:08

Many customers contact us with this problem, their descriptions sound something like this:
images come out blurry, when I take pictures the images come out blurry with lines, there are no images on the LCD, image on LCD is dark or black, cloudy pictures, Pictures in Auto focus are out of focus

Sound familiar? ... something like these...                                                                Blurry Pictures

When your image appears distorted and with altered colors, in most of the cases there are two possible reasons:
- The internal shutter gets stuck , does not open completely  or
-
The image sensor is damaged.

Upon receiving a camera Teleplan Camera Repair performs a thorough evaluation and analysis in order to identify the problem source. There are a couple of things that can be responsible for this and those are revealed in our analysis. Generally our customers specify these problems with these descriptions:

- Images appear to be distorted or blurry
- Black images

This problem presents itself in any digital camera, here are some of the ones we see:

Sony’s Affordable a380 DSLR with Lens

by Chris 26. January 2010 10:55

Only in the last couple of years have amateur photographers had the ability to purchase DSLRs for a reasonable sum of money. With 14.2 megapixels, a 2.7 LCD display, quick auto focus, SteadyShot INSIDE™ image stabilization and an 18-55mm zoom lens, the A380 is great option for those new to shooting with a DSLR. Not only is this camera easy to use, but it also contains a pop out and adjustable LCD screen which is great for capturing images at awkward angles. Another plus is the fact that in January of 2006 Sony acquired Minolta, the Japanese company known for introducing the world to the first integrated autofocus 35mm in a SLR camera. Although the lens that comes with the A380 is not Minolta, Sony has had time to improve and implement some of Minolta’s features into this camera which only benefits the photographer. Since released about 6 months ago, the price of this camera has become much more affordable. For about $700 you get both the camera body and the 35mm lens. So, for those looking for an alternative to Canon and Nikon’s DSLRs, look no further. For well under a grand, you can get a straightforward, high-performance camera that really packs a punch. Fix a broken lens on a point and shot

by Administrator 7. January 2010 12:07
We see a lot of cameras where the lens is stuck or grinds when the camera is turned on or off. If you have a point and shot camera that is experiencing this problem it is best not to keep cycling the power over and over expecting to get a different result. Something is stuck or you may have a lose piece in the lens. If you know the lens is stuck, or it is making noise please do not do  further damage by checking to see if it fixed itself. We fix broken and stuck camera lens problems every day. Please consider sending your camera to our Camera Repair Center for Repair.

Should I fix my camera or buy a new one?

by Administrator 29. December 2009 12:31

A couple of common question we hear are , "is it better to recycle my camera instead of fixing it?" and "how much should I spend on a repair before it makes more sense to get a new camera?" both are great questions and they both have a lot to do with the quality of your broken camera and the cost to replace it vs. the cost to repair it. Then there is the intangibles like emotional attachment to your camera and the anxiety of learning how to use a new camera. (yes people still fear change even when it makes sense).

As a rule, since we are biased, we try not to answer these question but we try to lead our customers to an answer that is best for them.

1- if the budget is tight, the repair is almost always the money saver of the two.
2 -If you don't care about the newest gizmo's and bells and whistles then it wise to fix the old camera
3-If your camera is expensive it is always wise to fix it vs. buying a new one.
4-If you love your camera and can't bare the thought of learning a new camera system then it is wise to repair your camera instead of buying a new one.

Camera Repairs are what we do, we love to take them apart and put them back together, but if you decide you want to buy a new camera instead of fixing the old one then please send us your old camera so we can recycle it. No use polluting the local landfill with camera batteries and other things that have an 2,000 year half life.

Fix your water damaged Camera

by Administrator 10. December 2009 06:17

Can camera water damage be repaired

When camera water damage happens, acting quickly is the best step!  In digital camera water repair, consider first of all, there are two types of water damage; Fresh water and Salt Water.  Fresh water damage is not as severe as salt water damage and is very obvious to the service technician as to what kind of liquid has contaminated the circuit board assembly.  Once we have determined the type of damage, we need to determine if the device was in the off or on position when the damage occurred, the mode of the device determines the severity of the damage.  An energized electronic circuit board experiencing a short circuit by water or any other conductive liquid will show physical damage, i.e., burnt components, curled or damaged traces, discoloration of CBA, etc.  This type of damage merits replacement of complete circuit board.   A de-energized circuit board exposed to conductive liquid will have a higher instance of intermittent failure and as water evaporates it leaves salt crystals. These salts crystallize out onto the board and then cause short circuits when the circuit board is eventually energized. In either case, the circuit board is cleaned, damaged components replaced, reflowed then given an operation check, at this stage the technician determines if the camera is ready for a stress test, further troubleshooting and repair or complete circuit board replacement is required.

Remember, when you need Camera Repair, Teleplan Camera Repair has the experience and the trained technicians with the ability to fix your camera.
