CHA Error Message

Nikon Camera Repair

The CHA ERROR shows up in the Nikon D200, Nikon D300, Nikon D70 and others.

It means that your NIKON DSLR, Nikon D200/D300 can't communicate with the flash card memory controller, basically it is the equivalent to an ERROR 02 in Canon. The Nikon Cha error in these cameras does not go away by powering off and on.  It would not allow you to take any pictures at the time this happens any time or intermittent when you can take pictures normally  a while  but when the error appears you need turns off the camera and turn it on again in order to have it enable again.
Also in NIKON cameras the error code could be permanent or intermittent. A permanent error would not allow you to take pictures at any time. An intermittent error would allow you to take pictures normally for a while but when the error appears you would need to turn the camera off and on again, in order to have it enabled again.

Here are some basic solutions to this Nikon error code;

  • Use a Nikon-approved CF card
  • Check that contacts are clean
  • Delete files or insert new memory card.
  • Format memory card, the data in CF could be corrupted.

If the ERROR continues to appear, the camera needs to be serviced. In many cases the pins in the slot are damaged due to the constant use and the camera cannot recognize the CF card. Another possible reason is that the memory card compression circuit is not operating correctly, so camera repair is needed in order to have a deep diagnosis to pinpoint and correct the problem.

Sony Cyber-shot Turn the power off and on again Error

by Administrator 23. March 2010 14:55

The turn the power off and on again error appears in Sony Cyber-shot DSC Digital Cameras. Sony Cyber-shot Camera Repair

Most Camera Repair situations are related with a lens issue, the lens can be stuck or can damage to the sensor lens.
It is very common that this error starts appearing if the camera was dropped; it could be intermittent or permanent.

If you can quickly shut it off and power on again, and it is working, it is fine.
The problem persisting shows that something is going on inside the camera.

Once the camera is disassembled, it becomes evident if the problem is adjustment, cleaning or requires actual parts to be replaced.

View Sony Cyber-shot DSC models

Many amateur attempts to fix the Sony Cyber-shot DSC result in causing damage and breakage of further pieces. The assembly is quite tight and does not allow for parts to be easily moved.
An attempt to disassemble without the technical expertise and tools often ends up in additional parts being broken, or “left over” parts when trying to re-assemble.

by Administrator 21. March 2010 07:27

Get help for the dreaded Canon E18 Error.

The E18 error appears to be very common if you search the web for Canon errors. We see a lot cameras come across our desk that have this troublesome problem. This is a quick fix for us an we can typically have your camera back to you within a 7-10 days from the time it reaches our service technicians.

Right now the E18 error appears to be restricted to the Canon Powershot Cameras and Canon is very aware of the issue.

Symptoms that you have got the E18 issue with your Canon

The E18 error on your Canon Powershot camera occurs when the lens gets stuck while trying to extend or retract. (as far as we can tell most problems occur while the lens is on the way out, but we have cameras where the user tells us it happened while the lens was retracting.
Typically, the camera will beep about 3 times and the LCD Display will show a White E18 in the lower-left corner of the LCD. At this point your lens is stuck in an extended position and is useless. If you have an E18 error your camera will not focus and the lens will not retract. Do not try to push the lens back into the camera as this will only complicate the repair.

If you have one of the following cameras chances are you will experience E18
Powershot A40 Powershot A60 Powershot A70 Powershot A75 Powershot A80 Powershot A85 Powershot A95 Powershot A400 Powershot A410 Powershot A430 Powershot A510 Powershot A520 Powershot A530 Powershot A540 Powershot A610 Powershot A620 Powershot S1 IS Powershot S2 IS Powershot S10 Powershot S30 Powershot S40 Powershot S45 Powershot S50 Powershot S60 Powershot S70 Powershot S80 Powershot S400 Powershot S410 Powershot S500 -

Error 02 - What is it?

by Administrator 16. March 2010 20:08

ERROR code 02 is related with a CF card error and is mostly in CANON DSLR CAMERAS – Canon Error 02

Sometimes the camera is completely unable to take pictures or operate the menu, and the only thing that you can see is ERROR 02. It is intermittent and at times you can take some pictures and suddenly the ERROR 02 appears.

Basic steps you can take to self address are:
-          Remove and reload the CF card
-          Format the CF card
-          Use another CF card

If these steps do not resolve the problem and the ERROR 02 continues to appear, the camera needs to be repaired.

Many times the pins in the slot are damaged due to constant use or incorrect memory card insertion, or the camera not recognizing the CF card. It could also be a problem with the compression circuit.

If you your camera has bent pins where you insert your memory card see this repair

When we receive cameras for repair we do an extensive evaluation to pinpoint exactly what the problem is and repair your camera.
