We see a lot of cameras where the lens is stuck or grinds when the camera is turned on or off. If you have a point and shot camera that is experiencing this problem it is best not to keep cycling the power over and over expecting to get a different result. Something is stuck or you may have a lose piece in the lens. If you know the lens is stuck, or it is making noise please do not do  further damage by checking to see if it fixed itself.
